Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, meet your driver-guide as we explore the Willamette Valley. The Willamette Valley American Viticulture Area (AVA) is 100 miles long with over 500 wineries, seven sub-AVA’s and 20,000 acres or vineyards. The Chehalem Mountains, Yamhill, Carlton, and the Dundee Hills are some of the premier AVA’s you’ll explore on the way to McMinnville.
We’ll bring a picnic lunch as many of the wineries offer patios to enjoy the vistas as well as wine. The charming small town of McMinnville in the heart of wine country will delight you with its fantastic restaurants, tasting rooms, galleries, and the occasional UFO sightings. Overnight.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 3
After a leisurely morning in town, the Eola &amo; Amity Hills, Mcminnville, and the Van Duzer corridor are the AVA’s that we will explore. We’ll provide lunch and some snacks as we taste our way along the Oregon Wine trail.
The Willamette Valley was “Eden” for early pioneers traveling the Oregon Trail, and during your explorations, you’ll be struck by the lushness of the landscape. As early as 1979, pioneers of the Oregon Wine industry were proving that these new world wines could compete with the best Burgundy, and the rest of the world could offer. Enjoy another evening in McMinnville. Overnight.
