Beyond the train ride through the Cascade Mountains and traveling through the high desert of Central and Western Washington to Walla Walla, there was an array of wonderful wines and some fine dining on a tour created by Guy and Robin Glaeser. Yet those who have toured know it is the tour guide that fills out and deepens the experiences along the way.
In Guy’s richly informed conversations with his guests, he shared insights into the geography and geological forces along the way. And in these settings he introduced the thousands of years of the various Indian Nations, their life styles and support of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Hanford and the development of the nuclear bomb in the Second World War was part of his narrative. With more than twenty years of experience and judged one of the best by national travel editors, he has developed a special skill as a memorable story teller and thoroughly enjoyed his journey with all of us.
It was wonderful.
